Shire Mint Coins

  • by

I always keep a fidget toy in my pocket. Not one of the actual toys but a pocket knife, silver dollar, something, a part of my EDC. Then I came across the Shire Post Mint Coins and found some cool stuff that serves a dual purpose. Need something to keep your hands busy while talking, working, or just going through your day. How about something that helps make up your mind, use one of these brilliantly crafted coins. I threw three on here to get your interest piqued.

Be Good/Stay Evil Decision Maker Coin

Do you have problems deciding if you should be good or evil? I like the coin but would really prefer something like jackass/not jackass, adult/child, mature/immature- they’d be more fitting for me. But I can work with evil, and now you don’t have to waste brain space thinking about it. Just flip the coin it’ll do the thinking. Original artwork for the coins by Michael Shantz. This coin weighs 18g solid copper, and measures 3.5cm.*Shire Post Mint is not responsible for outcomes as a result of using this coin, unless they are awesome then we take full credit.

  • An angel and devil help you make those difficult decisions

One More Episode / Go to Bed Copper Coin

It’s 2 a.m. on a Monday. That’s an exaggeration I honestly haven’t stayed up that late since I closed the pub. Anyway, you haven’t moved for a while, Netflix is asking if you’re still watching. You’ve been here before, the just one more episode before bed blues. Well before you get to the point of total exhaustion or sore back from passing out on the couch. Use this coin to help you make the decision- more TV or hit the sack.

Coin design by Michael Shantz. Coin Engraving by Woody Maringer. Treated to look as if it has been handled and circulated, done by hand. It is both an art and a science. Coloring and patinas will vary. No two coins are exactly the same! Coins are struck in the USA using antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. A colorful description is included with history and facts about the coin.

Memento Mori Copper Reminder Coin

Memento mori (Latin: “Remember that you have to die.”) is the medieval Latin Christian idea and practice of reflection on mortality. Not morbidly but philosophically. It is meant to remind you of your own mortality, and of the brevity and fragility of human life. The long history of “Memento Mori” reminders includes coins. Shire Post Mint has added their own twist on the concept and created a new reverse side. “Memento Vivere” which translates to “remember that you have to live.” Reflect on the balance between accepting mortality and embracing life. Combine the two, Carpe Diem, seize the day. Know that your time is short in the grand scheme of things. So have fun while you are here.

This solid copper coin is about 1/2 ounce, or 30 grams of solid bullion grade pure copper. We have chemically and manually aged the coin so the patina looks great right out of the package and will look even better with more wear from handling and daily carry. The product is treated to look as if it has been handled and circulated. This process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science, coloring and patinas will vary. No two are exactly the same! Coins are struck one at a time in the USA using antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. Original coin art by Michael Shantz
