There is no reason not to have great food while camping and this book is the resource you need. The recipes and advice found in this book will provide all you need.
A book for day hikers, families camping, and anyone who enjoys cooking outdoors. The New Camp Cookbook provides organizational advice and cooking techniques. You’ll find tips from meal planning, how to pack a cooler, and stocking your camp pantry to building a fire.
The recipes are organized by meal: breakfast, lunch, snacks, sweets, and all-out feasts. All Of the recipes use a standard set of cookware allowing for easy organization and a universal camp kitchen set.
Linda Ly plans for all the prep work to be done at the campsite. Prep work is time consuming and difficult without a full pantry. I’ve found that by doing most of the prep at home it makes my life much easier as well as reducing the amount of cooler space I need on sight. This also reduces the amount of time needed in the camp kitchen allowing us to focus on hiking, canoeing, and relaxing. Freezing what I could also allows us to utilize the food itself as ice packs, again reducing what we needed to carry in.
